Four Student Journalists Honored in 'Better Newspaper' Competition
The DePauw, the completely independent and student staffed and managed newspaper on the DePauw University campus, has been honored for excellence in journalism by the Hoosier State Press Association and Indiana Collegiate Press Association. In the college division of the 2019 "Better Newspaper Contest," the newspaper's editorial board took second place for "Best Editorial/Opinion." The award cited Katie Hunger, Maddy McTigue, Emily Schabes, Bryttni Carpenter for their work on the piece, "Walk a Mile in Our Shoes," which was published March 6, 2019.

Project Involving Depauw Seniors Wins 2019 Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award and Edward R. Murrow Award
Students in the Carnegie-Knight News21 investigative reporting project at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University -- a cohort which included two current DePauw University seniors -- are winners of the 2019 Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award and the Edward R Murrow Award.

Order of Omega Scholarship
The Order of Omega sponsors undergraduate Scholarship Awards in the amounts of $100 - $2,000 annually. Scholarship applicants must be initiated members registered with the Order of Omega Headquarters. Chapters in good standing with the Order of Omega Headquarters shall determine the process for nominating or selecting the members to apply for the awards.
